Look what crawled up through the (gross out time)

SOME THINGS ARE BETTER LEFT UNSAID
Like I was reading about Ray William Johnson and the beef he has with Maker Studios CEO Danny Zappin.  Johnson is like, "Zappin is a criminal." Zappin is like, "F*** you, prepare for war."

Whoa! You don't have to say everything that comes into your mind.  It's just not necessary or productive.

They started chipping on each other with some third grade bullshit.  Who knows who is right, but they have each made themselves and each other look like spoiled brats.

Two of the most successful Youtubers are not happy with the money and the success.  It's just never enough, right? Wah, right?  Gimmeabreak.

Have you ever found a disgusting, wiggling bug in the shower drain?  How about on the wet sidewalk outside your home?  How about in your salad at a fancy restaurant?  Did you feel compelled to hold it in your hand and show it to everyone.  "Look, everyone," you might say, "Look what climbed out of my ear."  See, if you do it right (well, er, wrong) you can make yourself and everyone else miserable.  But is that what you really want to do?

You were expecting a hot shower or a nice meal or a quiet walk to the mailbox.  Not this time, buddy.  You were expecting earwax, right?  But you got some sort of alien mind-control brain eater bug in your ear.  But rather than just having your day spoiled, you decided to spoil it for everyone.  That's bad.

Sometimes things don't go your way.  It's as simple as that.  One day you wake up to find that your Youtube Channel is being taken over by a crazed felon.  Or one day you wake up to find that your best client, the one you pampered like a favored grandchild, has slandered you and run off telling others tales of anger and harsh words.  Them's the breaks in the big world.  Move on.  Or you can stand around and squabble publicly like children.

Those guys can both get the lawyers busy.  For the rest of us, perhaps it's a lesson in professionalism and good business dealing.  I think the lesson is -- success and happiness can be mutually exclusive.

Does it happen to you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIDXLJLvZcY

Look at the green line in the image above ...

NOTICE: This video is pay gated, however as the video owner you are ...

Pay gated?  Pay Gated?!  What the heck is pay gated?

Google - what are you doing to my videos?  Ahahahaaaaaaaa

Actually, I am posting this because it's the first time I have seen the words "pay gated" generated in relation to my videos.  I believe that it means that I can see the video without tripping the view count or having to watch some obligatory video ad.  I think that's what it means.

Either that or you need to throw some money down on the table before you can watch this.  Could be either one.  Who knows?

Gots to get me over the pay gate.  I know that much all already.

Happy Easter (Punk Rock Style)

Happy Easter.  Happy Hot Cross Buns!

Of course, I can't just say, "Happy Easter," and be done with it.  No, no!  I have to make an alternative Easter punk rock greeting card.  Who will every want to watch this?  Punks? No.  Catholics?  No.  Oddballs?  Perhaps.

Anybody know any oddballs?  If so, please forward this video to them.  Maybe they'll understand my rebound on the whole Easter bunny thing.

First, I got nothing against chocolate footballs and jelly beans.  Love 'em.  Don't need a special holiday to serve those in the Jump Household.  We might grind 'em all up and make ice cream or cookies with them.  How's that sound?

Where's my audience?  Where's my call to action?  is the audience just supposed to eat or get hungry or what?

Hahaha... yeah, like I care.  But I will gripe a little bit.  They sure don't do easter like they used to do easter.  I have memories of poorly fitting shoes, unbearably long Catholic services, and Grandmas who spit on their hanky and try to wipe the mole off the side of my face.

Yeah, yeah, happy easter.  Anyway, these were old school hot cross buns.  They had the little bits of fruitcake in them.  They were so old skool that I really didn't like 'em.  They reminded me of every fruitcake I couldn't stand to eat.

But very German, nonetheless.  Ameri-German, I would think.  I don't mean that in bad way or anything, Germans are awesome.  They are very friendly and warm.  They're great.  I mean it in like the old hold-over German bakery sense.  They're getting harder to find.

Whatever.  The crosses are for Jesus.  Nobody would dispute that.

COSMIC PANDA -- BAMBOO SHOOTS OR COSMIC JOKE?

COSMIC PANDA: COSMIC JOKE OR NEXT BIG THING?

Communicating with the Panda Mothership
Youtube has introduced a beta test site-redesign with the code name, Cosmic Panda.
As with any beta, it's glitchy, but it shows Google and Youtube's ongoing efforts to evolve and maintain position as the premier video upload site (and advertising conduit) on the internet.

Cosmic Panda shows great potential for improving Youtube users' experience.  Users will be treated to larger video thumbnails (at least on channel pages) and better organized content.  The beta suggests that users might also be able to control the size of the box in which a video plays, giving more options than the standard or full-screen viewing options presently available.

The upgrade shows potential for allowing creators to have improved control over the positioning of content on a creator channel.  Cosmic Panda also displays features that will allow video content creators to organize their Youtube channels to showcase featured channels, blog-style updates or uploads.

On the beta (glitchy) side:

1) I couldn't manage to do simple tasks, such as post a video response, send a message to a friend or meaningfully work with and compare the four channel templates provided in the update.
2) While a creator's avatar won't require any changes, it seems readily apparent that creators will need to spend some time tweaking their channel background images, choosing a template, and re-acquainting themselves with navigating the video site.
3) When I tried to give feedback on the Cosmic Panda (solicited feedback, no less) I got an auto-generated reply, saying that my attempt at feedback was not recognized and that I would need to try again later.  Arg!

Anyway, I'm going to give the Cosmic Panda upgrade a B+ for now.  It's a really nice try.  All those hard-working folks at Youtube put a lot into this, it's an ambitious redesign, and it looks very promising at this point.  Cosmic Panda is not a cosmic joke.  It is the quite possibly the look and feel of the future.

Peace and love.  Jimmy Jump
