Ryan says bring on the VP debate

Do you think Paul Ryan is nervous about debating Joe Biden?  He probably should be if he isn't.  It's going to be an interesting night.  Will Biden say something stupid?  Probably, but that's to be expected.

Paul Ryan picks Mitt Romney for the win

What is going on in Paul Ryan's mind these days?  Is he ready to gag Mitt Romney for six weeks and hope upon hope that quieting Romney will lift the Republicans' sinking ship?

What would you do if you were Paul Ryan?  Switch sides?  Call time out?  Call do-over?

Romney seems bent on imploding and, like Pawlenty, the rats can tell the boat is in trouble.  It's time to shove some gear in a life boat and row away from the wreckage before it sucks you down as it sinks.

Paul Ryan is a stand up buy.  He's a politician (which means he's an actor with half a brain), but he seems to be able to do the right thing.  Right now the right thing seems to be, stand back and watch Romney destroy himself.

Whether he's in London, Boca Raton or Mexico, Romney has an innate sense of doing exactly the opposite of what he needs to be doing.  And Romney was a successful business man?  How?

Dirty Harry and Mitt shoot first ask questions later

Would Mitt Romney give you a warning shot?

OR IS HE THE DIRTY HARRY OF POLITICS?

It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall ... especially if we could listen to a conversation between Mitt the Twit and Dirty Harry.

I think old Mitt could tell Harry a thing or two about shooting first and asking questions second.  I believe the character (Detective Harry Callahan) Clint once played was fairly proficient at the practice of point and shoot.

As effective as point and shoot might seem, it's not the best way to make sure you're correct.

You could compare Mitt's mouth (and his verbal reactions to world events) as a sort of verbal Dirty Harry reaction.  Point and shoot.  Quick as a bunny.  Then bring the truck around and start explaining why your actions were appropriate for the situation.

Do you want Mitt's finger poised over the nuke button?  Really?  Dude might push it just to make sure we're all listening.  Rocket to Russia, baby.  Mitt the Twit to the rescue.

Christie: Do These Lies Make My Ass Look Big

Chris Christie, "Too Big?" by DonkeyHotey
Chris Christie, "Too Big?", a photo by DonkeyHotey on Flickr.
Don't get me wrong, I want to like Chris Christie. He's a bid, tough talking guy from New Jersey. He could protect you in the schoolyard, that's for sure.

But when he tries to do the Big Time "Rescue Romney" thing it falls flat. Either Mitt is too tough to sell or Christie ain't feeling it. Perhaps both.

Regardless of whether you Governor Christie, you have to admit that he's freaking entertaining.
